PEER SUPPORT INITIATIVE

About the Peer Support Initiative

The UNCAC Coalition’s Peer Support Initiative was idealized to complement civil society’s actions towards UNCAC implementation and anti-corruption reform by connecting member CSOs with specialized expertise. With a growing network of over 400 NGOs, the Coalition aims to harness this collective effort to support impactful advocacy, particularly at regional and national levels.

Effective participation in anti-corruption decision-making often requires timely expert support. This initiative bridges that gap by matching CSOs with experts and peer organizations that can provide targeted technical assistance such as legal analysis and policy review.

By leveraging our network, we facilitate strategic connections and, when applicable and if available, offer limited financial support to maximize impact. While we can only support a limited number of initiatives each year, all submissions are carefully reviewed to ensure they align with our mission and contribute to meaningful anti-corruption efforts.

Who and What We Support

The Peer Support Initiative matches UNCAC Coalition members with expert consultancies to strengthen their advocacy and anti-corruption efforts. Support is considered on a case-by-case basis, prioritizing projects with clear impact and strategic timing.

To qualify, applicants must:
✅ Be an UNCAC Coalition member (priority for CSOs in ODA recipient countries).
✅ Have a project aligned with UNCAC provisions or key cross-cutting anti-corruption themes.
✅ Clearly define the expert support needed, such as legal analysis, policy review, or advocacy planning.
✅ Identify a timely advocacy opportunity (e.g., legislative reform, policy engagement) and outline measurable outcomes.

Support will focus on:
➤ Practical, results-driven assistance that directly strengthens advocacy, policy, or legal reform.
➤ Time-sensitive interventions where expert input is needed at key moments, such as before government assessments or legislative revisions.
➤ Targeted, action-oriented support, like drafting resolution text, reviewing policy documents, or preparing advocacy materials.
➤ Enhancing civil society advocacy, helping CSOs amplify their impact rather than duplicating existing efforts.

🚫 We do NOT cover:
❌ Conference participation or travel.
❌ Projects unrelated to UNCAC implementation.
❌ General research, capacity building, or long-term engagements.
❌ Organizations lacking a track record of effectively delivering comparable initiatives.

📌 Note: This is a pilot initiative with limited availability. Not every project that meets the criteria will be supported. Proposals will be assessed based on their alignment with UNCAC priorities, available expertise, and practical, results-driven assistance.
