Trabajo de la OSC en el ámbito de la lucha contra la corrupción

Semillas para la Democracia ha asumido un rol activo y articulador en el escenario político nacional, promoviendo el control y la incidencia ciudadana en el gobierno, posicionando temas de debate como el Financiamiento Político, Reforma Electoral, Violencia contra la Mujer, Ética en la Justicia, transparencia en la selección de jueces y en la administración del dinero público, el cumplimiento de los compromisos asumidos por los gobiernos, y la defensa de la institucionalidad, y ha tenido un rol activo en el proceso de aprobación de la Ley de Acceso a la Información Pública. Actualmente es socia de ACNUR en Paraguay.

“Semillas para la Democracia” has worked integrity systems with the Judiciary, specifically the Code of Ethics and supported the creation of the Judicial Ethics office. Semillas is part of the GIAI (Driving Group for Access to Information), which has successfully passed the Law on Access to Information and Public Transparency.

It has worked campaigns on political financing and how the use of Public Goods (specifically in health and education) is corruption, and corruption kills. Semillas monitors Electoral Expenditure in Political Campaigns and through the incidence achieved with the dissemination of data, the approval of the first Political Financing Law, in 2018, was achieved, public juries, through a strong advocacy campaign with parliamentarians and the Judiciary.

Trabajo de la OSC en relación con la CNUCC

La Mesa Interinstitutional de Seguimiento a las Convenciones Internacionales contra la Corrupción, que aborda las áreas temáticas de la Convención de las Naciones Unidas contra la Corrupción (CNUCC), no convoca a organizaciones de la sociedad civil que trabajan temas de Lucha contra la Corrupción, como el Financiamiento Político, Acceso a la Información y Declaraciones Juradas de Bienes.

Semillas has an agreement signed with the Anti-Corruption Secretariat (SENAC) and has met with the team that is in charge of preparing the report of the UNCAC review mechanism, and we have agreed to participate in it. We have long experience in advocacy and we would like to work on the subject, in order to achieve broad participation of civil society in the report.
