General description of your work in the prevention of and the fight against corruption

Since 2004, the Namibia Institute for Democracy has led and directed the efforts of the Zero Tolerance for Corruption Campaign (ZTFCC) in collaboration with the Anti-Corruption Commission of Namibia (ACC), the Office of the Prime Minister, the Law Reform and Development Commission, the Ombudsman and other public and private institutions and civic organisations. The main activities are providing technical assistance to the ACC, capacity building programmes, training of trainers workshops, awareness raising campaigns and grassroots civic education workshops.

Representatives of the Namibia Institute for Democracy have participated in the following events:

  • “Multi-stakeholder Workshop on Implementing the UNCAC and its Review Mechanism” in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia,  8-11 April 2019
  • “Regional Conference on Fast-tracking UNCAC Implementation in Southern Africa” in Livingstone, Zambia, 14-18 October 2019
