Transparency Pledge

The Pledge is a voluntary commitment to meet minimum standards of transparency and civil society participation in the UNCAC Implementation Review Mechanism.

We call on States Parties to sign our Transparency Pledge for the second UNCAC review cycle.

To date, 46 States Parties have signed the Transparency Pledge, reaffirming the importance of transparency and public consultation in addressing corruption. Their commitment signals a strong belief that civil society can play a crucial role in preventing and combatting corruption in their country, contributing to the successful implementation of UNCAC provisions.

We congratulate the 46 countries that have signed the Transparency Pledge so far. To ensure this commitment is implemented in practice, we regularly track compliance with the Transparency Pledge’s principles, as shown in the map below.

Civil society included in the review yes - the government obtained the input of CSOs and other stakeholders in the development of the self-assessment checklist through gathering written submissions and holding workshops. The country report lists the names of all organizations who participated in the workshops: Transparency International – Macedonia, Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation (MCMS), Institute for Democracy “Societas Civilis” - Skopje (IDSCS), Economic Chamber of Macedonia, Centre for Civil Communications and Faculty of Law “Iustinianus I” - Skopje (prof. Follow-up briefing on the review for civil society yes, a meeting with civil society stakeholders to discuss the findings of the review was held in Skopje from 5-6 April 2022
