Context in which this group operates
The United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), like many international treaties, is gender blind. Yet there is growing evidence that corruption is a factor in women’s exclusion from leadership and decision-making roles, as well as their lack of access to business opportunities, economic resources, and assets such as land, and adequate public services.
The Working Group also collaborates on efforts covering topics such as Sexual Corruption: Understanding, measuring and preventing abuse of power for sex, with the International Federation of Women Lawyers and the Department of Government at Uppsala University; Gender and Corruption Data, with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine; and Mainstreaming Gender and Promoting Inclusion in Anti-corruption frameworks, with the African Women Against Corruption Network.
The Working Group on Gender, Inclusion and Anti-Corruption provides a forum to influence and inspire, share ideas, advocate for better data, and create space for discussion and debate on these interconnected issues, and to explore how civil society can move forward on them together.

Objectives
The objectives of the Gender, Inclusion and Corruption Working Group are to:
- Influence and inspire each other by sharing experiences
- Share ideas on new research questions
- Advocate for better data on gender and corruption
- Advocate for changes in international law, policy, and practices
