Human Rights and Corruption

The Global Civil Society Coalition for the UNCAC Working Group on Human Rights and Corruption serves as a platform for fostering discussions, exchanging knowledge, and sharing experiences among civil society, activists and academics working on human rights and corruption. Additionally, the Working Group provides a space for the coordination of advocacy efforts and the advancement of international and regional laws and policies in this regard.

Working Group Aims: 

  1. Break silos between human rights and anti-corruption civil society, academics and institutions.
  2. Provide updates on policy developments on anti-corruption and human rights.
  3. Advance anti-corruption efforts with a victims-centred approach.
  4. Empower anti-corruption civil society with the necessary tools to use Human Rights mechanisms and vice versa.
  5. Increase the prevention and recognition of corruption as a human rights violation.
  6. Advocate for changes in international law, policy and practice.
