Mission
Transparency International Türkiye is the national chapter of the global Transparency International movement, dedicated to preventing and combating corruption and strengthening integrity, accountability, and the rule of law. Its mandate is to promote transparent, inclusive, and democratic governance by monitoring public institutions, advocating for regulatory reform, and empowering civil society to hold decision-makers accountable.
The organisation works to address systemic corruption risks in areas such as public procurement, political finance, public budgeting, and business integrity. It develops evidence-based research, open data tools, and policy recommendations to improve institutional transparency and reduce opportunities for abuse of power.
Core objectives include enhancing access to information, strengthening oversight and accountability mechanisms, supporting whistleblowing and civic participation, and fostering a culture of integrity in both public and private sectors. Through research, advocacy, capacity building, and strategic litigation support, the organisation contributes to safeguarding democratic institutions and protecting fundamental rights from the corrosive effects of corruption.
