Mission
Libera is dedicated to advancing social justice, democratic legality, and the protection of fundamental rights, while strengthening community resilience to organised crime and corruption. Its mission is to foster transparency, integrity, civic responsibility, and meaningful public participation through education, community engagement, advocacy, and international cooperation.
Its core objectives include: promoting the social reuse of assets confiscated from organised crime, developing “educating community” pathways that involve educators, professionals, families, and young people in building a shared culture of legality and accountability, preserving the memory of innocent victims of organised crime and supporting their families, and implementing programmes for minors involved in judicial proceedings. Libera also participates as a civil party in trials related to organised crime offences and contributes to national and international policy processes in the areas of anti‑mafia and anti‑corruption
Libera coordinates and reinforces international networks such as CHANCE in Europe, ALAS in Latin America, and PLACE in Africa, creating collaborative spaces for preventing and combating organised crime and corruption.
