Mission
KLI is a Think-tank specialized in rule of law, good governance and human rights, with a particular focus on grand corruption and state capture, judiciary and parliamentary monitoring, human rights and investigative journalism. Its work is centered on monitoring, research, legal and data analysis, campaigning and awareness raising, free legal aid and strategic litigation, as well as training and educational programs. Annually, KLI publishes more than dozens of reports addressing key issues related to rule of law, human rights and good governance. KLI monitors over 2,000 court hearings annually, generating findings and recommendations. Through its Free Legal Aid Center, KLI provides legal assistance to vulnerable groups, including support for the protection of whistleblowers’ rights. KLI also invests in capacity building by organizing trainings, workshops and practical skills programs for young lawyers. In addition, KLI promotes accountability through investigative journalism, including a weekly prime-time national TV program that exposes misuse of public office, criminal offenses and institutional irregularities. Also it works to raise public awareness on combating and reporting corruption while advocating for citizens’ rights.
