Mission
EURIA was founded in 2013 by Professor Dimitris Ziouvas of Panteion University for Social and Political Sciences of Athens (at the age of 37) – now Professor of the University of Sussex (UK) – together with a handful of his students attending his undergraduate course „Anti-Corruption Offences“.
EURIA was formally incorporated in 2013 under Greek laws as a „Civil Non Profit Organisation“ with the full name „European, Euro-Mediterranean & Eurasian Integrity Youth Academy – EURIA Anti-Corruption and Anti-Fraud Organization“.
EURIA has currently 7 branches in South Eastern European Countries (Greece, Serbia, FYROM, Bulgaria, Albania, Ukraine) and Qatar and maintains a secretariat in Athens, Greece. EURIA has currenlty 1392 members aged 13 – 40 (80% of EURIA members are between 13 – 27 years old). EURIAs Greek branch, „Anti-Corruption Youth Greece“ has an active social media presence. Our leading role in promoting anti-corruption in youth groups in South Eastern Europe recently led to our organization receiving the Sheik Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani Anti-Corruption Excellence Award 2016 in the category „Youth Innovation“. The prestigious international award is in support of UNODC.
