Mission
(BTS) was founded in the year 2001, The society works in the area of fighting corruption, focusing on spreading integrity culture, good governance and accountability besides monitoring elections in Bahrain and the broader Middle East and North Africa region. The society prepares studies in the fields of anti-corruption as well as economic reports.
In addition, society holds a set of events such as training programs for youths, public seminars and workshops, especially in the fight against financial and economic corruption and governance plus investigative journalism. BTS hosts events of the likes of World Day Against Corruption; also, it locally launches the Corruption Perceptions Index, an annual report prepared by Transparency International.
Amongst others, the society prepares reports and studies on Bahrain’s commitments to implementing sustainable development goals or SDGs; in fact, BTS has participated in the Arab forums prepared by ESCWA relating to implementation of SDGs at the pan-Arab level.
BTS is a proud working member of Transparency International (TI) whose membership spans over 100 countries.
Likewise, BTS is a member of Arab Anti-Corruption and Integrity Network (ACINET), Last but not least, BTS is a member of the Arab NGO Network for Development or ANND.
