Agenda Items:
1. Regional Coordinator Applications
CCC discussed candidates for each of the four regional coordinator positions, three in Africa and one in Asia.
Selection was based on the criteria in the application form.
The consensus was also (1) for coordinators from different groups and not too heavily from TI Chapters and (2) where possible for regional coordinators coming from the region/sub-region represented as opposed to another region; and (3) preference to be given to coordinators who had attending one of the trainings.
No CCC members who had candidates were present during discussions of their candidate.
CCC selection:
North Africa: Saad Meknassi the only candidate, supported by CCC
Asia: Kol Preap agreed as best candidate, had attended training and several CCC members attested to his dynamism.
South and East Africa: At the end of the discussion there were four shortlisted candidates: Mary Jane Ncube, TI Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe: Jean Bosco Nzisabira, Centre de Developpement, de Prevention des Conflits et de Secours Humanitaires, Burundi; Maureen Kariuki, Africa Centre For Open Governance (AFRICOG), Kenya. Of these Mary Jane and Maureen had attended the training and CCC members considered both eligible.
Central and West Africa: At the end of the discussion there were three shortlisted candidates: Peters Udeagu, Organization for Nigerian Chaplains, Nigeria; Kama Gbemuotor, Professionals for Humanity, Nigeria; Bernice Dapaah, Bright Generation Community Foundation, Ghana.
- ACTION: LJ to send shortlisted applicants full applications to the CCC for feedback by Monday 04 June.
- ACTION: LJ organise interviews for Peters, Kama and Bernice.
2. GOPAC Memorandum of Understanding – final review
The Memorandum of Understanding with GOPAC was approved by the CCC.
- ACTION: VL to sign MOU.
- ACTION: LJ to send MOU to GOPAC for signature.
3. Access to Information (ATI) Campaign
- ACTION: Discussion postponed until next conference call.
4. Draft agenda for CSO strategy meeting, 19 June
JS presented the draft agenda and CCC responded positively.
- ACTION: CCC to send feedback on the draft agenda by COB, Wednesday 06 June.
