Gillian Dell is a lawyer by training and is currently the Global Advocacy Lead at Transparency International (TI). She has served as head of the TI Conventions Unit and was both Chair and Vice Chair of the UNCAC Coalition over a period of years. For many years she co-authored the periodic Exporting Corruption report on foreign bribery enforcement, and in 2023 she authored a TI Working Paper on Tackling Grand Corruption Impunity.
Gillian was founding co-convenor of the Coalition in 2006 (originally called the Coalition of Civil Society Friends of the UNCAC) and continued in the role of convenor until the election of the first Coalition board in 2011. From 2006 until 2018, she led the TI team that provided the Coalition’s secretariat, coordinating the Coalition’s submissions and activities at UNCAC meetings. She is Chair of the Coalition Working Group on Grand Corruption and State Capture. She was previously elected Vice Chair of the Coalition in October 2021, Co-Chair in September 2022, and was most recently Chair of the Coalition from September 2023 until 2025.
