Mission
Rwenzori Anti-Corruption Coalition (RAC) is a regional civil society coalition established in 2002 to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance in Uganda’s Rwenzori region. Headquartered in Fort Portal City. RAC works to empower citizens to expose corruption, demand action, and participate meaningfully in governance processes for poverty reduction and improved service delivery.
The organisation operates across nine districts of the Rwenzori sub-region and maintains strong grassroots structures in 78 sub-counties, each composed of trained community monitors and anti-corruption activists. RAC also implements programmes in refugee-hosting communities, including Kyaka II and Rwamwanja settlements.
RAC’s work focuses on community mobilisation, public funds tracking, advocacy, capacity building, and policy engagement. Through participatory and inclusive approaches, the organisation strengthens the ability of citizens, local leaders, and institutions to prevent, detect, and respond to corruption.
Guided by its core values of responsibility, accountability, and commitment, RAC aims to build a just and corruption-free society. Its key beneficiaries include rural communities, women, youth, persons with disabilities, indigenous groups, and other marginalised populations.
