In the coming months, the UNCAC Coalition will host informal briefings to provide all interested government mission delegates in Vienna with information on the UN Convention Against Corruption. These briefings are particularly intended for government delegates who have recently arrived in Vienna or are new to the UNCAC portfolio. If you are interested, please send an email to email hidden; JavaScript is required with your name, position and organisation.

The event comes at an important time across the various mandates in Vienna – with the forthcoming UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in 2020, the upcoming Conference of the States Parties (COSP) to the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) in December and a UN General Assembly Special Session (UNGASS) on corruption scheduled for 2021, as well as a new multi-year work plan for the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs from 2019 to 2023.

The aim of the meeting is to introduce the three civil society networks, describe the work they do, and outline the value they bring to the work being done in Vienna. The programme will include:

  • Opening remarks from UNODC, including the Civil Society Team
  • Presentation from Mathias Huter, Vienna Hub Coordinator oft he UNCAC Coalition
  • Presentation from Jamie Bridge, Chair of the Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs
  • Presentation from Anna Alvazzi del Frate, Acting Chair of the NGOs Alliance on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice
